If you look at my LinkedIn profile, my bio says it all: Social and Digital Media Marketing Maven by day, video game evangelist and technology buff by night. Over a decade of web and digital experience, a deep understanding of social media marketing strategy building, and an almost un-healthy fondness for KPI development and analytic data reviews.

I began my professional career as a graphic and web designer. I bought several books and taught myself how to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Pagemill. After working for several non-profit organizations, I moved on to wedding videography. For several years I was a member or the Wedding Event Videographers Association (WEVA) which allowed me to learn about shooting video, staging events, lighting people, and basic photography. But I’m a curious sort by nature, so from there I moved on to web design and development doing contract for for the Department of Transportation before finding my love for marketing and marketing communications at Apple Inc. After a brief time in Apple Retail I was hooked on marketing, and began what has become my life’s work in social and digital media marketing.

You see, everything I did before built the path that I walk today. If I hadn’t learned about videography, I never would have become skilled in digital video or audio production. If I hadn’t learned those skills, I never would have found my way into digital marketing. Long story short, I wouldn’t be Rochelle Hinds.

You never know where a path might lead, but I’m always eager to see where I end up.
